Housing: There are a wide range of housing types available from apartments and condominiums to townhouses, duplexes, triplexes, and single-family detached houses. The growth of multi-family units has resulted in a 69% - 31% split between single family and multi-family units. There are very few new homes available for less than $100,000, and new detached home construction tends to begin at $140,000. New townhomes, duplexes, and condominiums start in the $100,000 plus range. The city has experienced a large amount of upscale construction which increases the land and development costs. The cost of a new home averages $191,000 and the resale of an existing home is $186,500.
