Racial Composition: The racial composition of the City of Newnan indicates that 59% are Caucasian, 30% are African-American, and 3% are Asian. The remaining 3% population includes American Indian or Eskimo, Asian or Pacific Islander, Other, or two or more races. Of all races, 89% the Census population identifies themselves as non Hispanics or Latinos, while 11% do identify them as such.

Income: Census data indicates that in 2000, the city of Newnan’s median household include was $36,142. The state of Georgia’s median household income was $42,433. This information has not been released yet for 2010 Census.

Population: In 2005, the city had 8,746 households and an estimated total population of 23,000 people. The age distribution projects that the 35-44 year olds make up the highest percentage of the population with 17.0%, followed by 5 – 14 year olds at 15.6%, 45-54 years old at 14.2%, and 15-24 years old at 13.6%.

Educational Attainment:  The latest information shows that 29.4% of citizens in the city are high school graduates, 18.6% have some college experience, and 25.1% are college graduates. This information has not been released yet for 2010 Census.
