STORMWATER MANAGEMENT
Mission:
The City of Newman's Stormwater Management believes education of the public is an effective means of developing long: term awareness of activities that can threaten water quality in local water ways. It is our hope that this page will provide an additional means of distributing information about the impacts of stormwater on local water resources.
Stormwater Management Program:
The City of Newman is a Local Issuing Authority (LIA) and Phase II Municipal Separate Storm Sewer MS4.
The City of Newman Stormwater Management follows a Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) approved Stormwater Management Plan consisting of Best Management Practices (BMPs) including:

Stormwater Management System - Extent of Service Policy Infrastructure Operation, Maintenance & Repairs:
The City of Newman’s Extent of Service Policy defines the rights and responsibilities of the City of Newman in the operation, maintenance, and repair of physical Stormwater assets/ infrastructure. The policy will additionally define the rights and responsibilities for the private property owner(s) for maintaining the water quantity and quality functions of stormwater best management practices (BMP’s), as well as provide the City guidance to ensure their proper functioning.
