GIS Analyst II

The GIS Analyst II performs a variety of technical and professional work in the area of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) including but not limited to electronically creating and maintaining maps, GIS layers, and geographic computer files by interpreting geographic or legal source data using automated GIS tools.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to supporting and integrating GIS systems utilizing various software, developing a wide variety of computerized maps and map layers, correcting GIS errors, establishing and maintaining GIS and computer data files, acting as a departmental liaison for all GIS needs, geographically depicting parcel splits, combinations and land boundary adjustments through the use of computer aided drafting techniques and tools and revising maps to reflect pertinent changes such as rezonings, annexations and street acceptances.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, geography, urban planning, environmental science or a closely related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience with GIS including programming, systems analysis or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of geometry, computer applications used to produce maps, GIS principles, properties of maps (including distance, scales and legends), source documents used to create maps, and skill in the area of drafting and designing.
Drug test, motor vehicle history and background screen required.
Competitive wages and benefit package. $25.25/hour to start
